To get to the slides from Dr. Slawson's presentation, click on the link below to go to the MHSLA Home Page, MHSLA 2008 Conference Documents / Presentations and there you will see a link to the slides from Dr. Slawson's Information Mastery course.

Or you can go directly to the link at http://www.healthsystem.virginia.edu/internet/familymed/information_mastery/information_mastery_course.cfm
One thing to note, these are the slides for the 2-day Information Mastery course given to residents, medical students and others who take the course now being offered via Tufts University. There is much more information here than what was presented at the Midwest MLA / MHSLA conference. Also, many of the notes are available as well. You may want to view these slides in the "notes" view.

Those traveling by car via I-75 from the south will need to detour at some point due to construction. I-75 is completely closed for a few miles in downtown Detroit. You may follow the posted detour signs which will take you to I-275 North and then back to I-75 via I-94 East. Another shorter detour to consider is to stay on I-75 a little longer and get off on M-39 West, which is Southfield Rd in Allen Park. There will be about a 2 mile stretch of surface road in Allen Park but you will be able to get onto I-94 East sooner. In either case you will take I-94 East to Detroit to I-75 North to get to the hotel in Troy.

Just a reminder that there are still plenty of rooms available at the Troy Marriot - both doubles and singles. Keep in mind, though, that you cannot book the double-bed rooms online. Instead, you must call or email Lucy Micakaj, the Marriott Hotel Group Room Coordinator. Lucy can be reached at (248) 680-9663 or lucy.micakaj@marriott.com. If you had trouble booking a room at the Marriott, please contact Lucy. If you?ve booked a room at a different hotel, please consider moving to the Marriott. Staying at the conference hotel will be much more convenient and would help us reach our room commitment. Thank you!

Those flying into the Detroit Metro Airport may want to consider coordinating a shared taxi ride to the Marriott hotel in Troy. Due to distance and current fuel prices the trip is costly.
If you want help finding others willing to share a ride to the hotel, as soon as you have booked a flight send an email to Patty Supnick at psupnick@dmc.org. Include:
1. "08 Conf Transpo" in the subject line
2. Flight information - airline, flight number, arrival day and time
3. Contact information
We will send you the names of those arriving around the same time that are willing to share a ride. You may contact them and coordinate your trip to the hotel. We cannot guarantee a ride share so will let you know if there are none that have come to our attention.
To see transportation options on the conference website go to http://www.mdmlg.org/midwest/transportation.htm.
